Using the latest live database from FIFA 20, Goal looks at which players are set to receive big boosts to their overall scores in FIFA 21.

Adama Traore was a 74-rated silver in FIFA 20 but received plenty of in-form and special cards in FIFA Ultimate Team thanks to his fantastic performances for Wolves. 

He is currently rated 78 in the live database but could get another increase in stats for FIFA 21, where he also should have one of the highest pace ratings in the game.


Official: Napoli sign Victor Osimhen from Lille

At the start of FIFA 20, Victor Osminhen was a 74-rated player at Lille that nobody used in their teams. By the end, he had received a 93-rated Team of the Season edition and earned a move to Napoli in real life, smashing their transfer record.

His basic player edition received a big bump in ratings up to 78 in the online season's database, but he could be boosted even higher if he gets off to a good start at Napoli.

Serie A side Inter have splashed out to sign full-back Achraf Hakimi from Real Madrid, having seen the Moroccan flourish on loan at Borussia Dortmund.

The Bundesliga side wanted to sign him themselves but were priced out of a move thanks to the 21-year-old's huge potential.

After netting six goals in his debut season in Serie A with Inter, Lautaro Martinez more than doubled his tally in 2019-20 and scored seven goals in 11 games as the Nerazzurri reached the Europa League final.

That kind of form saw him become linked with Barcelona where he would be Luis Suarez's successor and will see him become one of the best strikers in FIFA 21.


Ferran Torres joins Manchester City on a five-year deal


Ferran Torres - Man City - 74>79

Manchester City signed Ferran Torres to replace Bayern Munich-bound Leroy Sane and are hoping the Spanish winger can have a similar impact on England.

Torres is still just 20 but played over 70 La Liga games for Valencia and is regarded as one of Europe's best young wide player.


Camavinga: Real Madrid, Barça Rennes target priced at €50m


Eduardo Camavinga - Rennes - 70>75

At just 17, Eduardo Camavinga is wanted by many of Europe's biggest clubs including Real Madrid and Bayern Munich.

The teenager was one of the best breakthrough players of the season before Ligue 1 was canceled in March due to coronavirus and fans are eager to see what he can do next.

Alphonso Davies - Bayern Munich - 72>77

The Canadian wide player was switched from a left-winger to a left-back at Bayern Munich and helped them win the treble in his first full season at the club.

He's now the first-choice left-back under Hansi Flick and is sure to receive a huge boost in his ratings after winning the Champions League.

That saw his profile rise massively and also resulted in a big increase in his FIFA rating, going up five overall points from the start of the season to the end. 



Martin Odegaard - Real Madrid - 77>82

After three loan spells around Europe, Martin Odegaard arrives back at Real Madrid ready to make an impact.

The former wunderkind has developed has skills in the Netherlands and at Real Sociedad, where he proved his La Liga class in 2019-20, meaning he will finally get a chance to show what he can do at Santiago Bernabeu.


Alexander-Arnold vows to stay at Liverpool and become a club legend


Trent Alexander-Arnold - Liverpool - 80>85

Trent Alexander-Arnold keeps going from strength to strength and beat his own assists record last season as Liverpool won their first-ever Premier League title.

He also added more goals to his game and has become one of Jurgen Klopp's key players at Anfield, something which will be reflected in the FIFA 21 ratings.



Gabriel Martinelli - Arsenal - 68>74

Gabriel Martinelli could be the next great Brazilian attacker and already has impressed for Arsenal in the Premier League despite never having played at the top level before moving to England.

Despite being ruled out through injury until the end of 2020, he is sure to receive an upgrade in FIFA 21.


Jadon Sancho - Borussia Dortmund - 80>86

The talented winger is one of the most wanted players in Europe, but due to financial problems caused by the coronavirus pandemic, is far too expensive for the majority of teams this summer.

Another impressive year at Borussia Dortmund has added to his attractiveness and will make him one of the best young players in FIFA 21 when it launches in October.

Leicester defender Caglar Soyuncu is already a cult hero at the club

With Harry Maguire leaving Leicester for Manchester United, the Foxes easily filled the void with Turkish center-back Caglar Soyuncu.

Signed from Freiburg a year earlier, Soyuncu played just six games in his first season in the Premier League but was a rock at the back during his second campaign.

 Ben White new contract at Brighton


Ben White - Brighton - 68>75

Ben White was one of the best performers in the Championship in 2019-20, impressing on loan at Leeds United to help Marcelo Bielsa's side win the division.

He returns to the top flight in 2020-21, but parent club Brighton may have a difficult time keeping him on the south coast with some of the division's top six sniffing around.

Mason Greenwood started out a lowly silver in FIFA 20 and ended the year with an upgraded silver card.

In FIFA 21, this is likely to be gold thanks to a fantastic season where the teenage attacker showed he was on a par with Manchester United's more experienced frontmen.


Real Valladolid defender Mohammed Salisu has a £10.2m buyout clause


Mohammed Salisu - Southampton - 68>75

Southampton's new defensive signing could prove to be a bargain after the Saints activated Mohammed Salisu's release clause to bring him to England from Valladolid.

His performances in La Liga have been like a player with far more experience and he is sure to get a big upgrade in FIFA 21.


Bukayo Saka - Arsenal - 65>74

The versatile wide player made his debut in 2018-19 but became a regular at the Emirates in 2019-20, especially under Mikel Arteta.

Saka signed a new long-term deal at Arsenal in July and also has seen his FIFA rating improve as the year progressed.



Mohamed Ihattaren - PSV - 66>76

PSV is a production line for talent, with Mohamed Ihattaren the latest young star to emerge from the Eindhoven academy.

At just 18, Ihattaren was in an international tug-of-war between Morocco and the Netherlands but decided to pull on the orange jersey and is expected to make his full debut in the near future.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is building an exciting young team at Manchester United and Brandon Williams is seen as not just a player for the future, but one for right now.

The 19-year-old played well at left-back to help United finish in the top four and will see his FIFA 21 stats reflect his real-life progress.



  1. Erling Haaland - Borussia Dortmund - 68>80

    Erling Haaland was the biggest revelation of 2019-20. The Norwegian striker joined Red Bull Salzburg before the start of the season but by the new year, he was lining out for Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League knockout stages.

    His rating has already seen him have a huge jump in FIFA 20, climbing from 68 to 80 and that is sure to rise again once FIFA 21 hits shelves.
